Two Charged Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Assault
Formal charges have been brought against two men following a suitcase robbery where a believed to be capsaicin spray caused injuries at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and charges for deploying a toxic agent, authorities have stated.
These accusations come after an investigation into an assault at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage taken after getting out of a car park lift, authorities reported.
A three-year-old girl was among those injured during the incident. Five people required hospital care and were subsequently released.
This event – which authorities stated was not part of a series and deemed non-terroristic – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
