The children's author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

David Walliams

Prolific writer for children and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

A spokesman for the firm stated: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was reached following an investigation into claims about questionable actions towards young women.

The publisher did not confirm the reasons for its decision, stating: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, having sold in excess of 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Several of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

He has published over four dozen titles in total, encompassing a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
