Barça to Host Inaugural Match at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday
The club confirmed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. The club will host the Basque side in domestic competition two and a half years since relocating for construction to commence.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced finished work included a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.
Recent Activities
The club conducted an open training session at the Camp Nou in early November. They mentioned they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt in December in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
