Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos stated on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on December 29th, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his team members.
Healing from Light Wounds
The sports star had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.
“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the loss of his two dear friends.”
The news of his discharge comes as the global fight fans had expressed its support for the champion in the following the terrible crash.
